1. The big day has arrived! Tonight is the amazing ASSUMPTIOIN SCARES! Please be sure you get something to eat and are back at the school for 4pm in the caf. Remind your drivers to here at 4 as well and do NOT forget your boxes!!! This is going to be AWESOME!
2. Attention students who have already signed up for our school board’s online night school or credit recovery program. Please check your school email for an important update! The start date has been delayed by a week and should start Nov 5th. If you have any questions, please see your guidance counsellor.
3. Today is PJ Day lions. Wear long PJ pants with uniform tops. Please remember that sweatpants are not PJ bottoms and should not be worn. A Halloween movie will also be shown in the lecture hall on all three lunches today. Tomorrow is Halloween and pep rally. Wear Halloween costumes or replace uniform parts with orange or black. Spirit wear is also allowed. See posters around the school for Halloween costume guidelines.
4. ACS Yogi’s- Spirit wear is in the works. If you are part of the yoga club, or considering joining stop by Room 3014 today or tomorrow between 10:15 and 1:40 to cast a vote for your spirit wear colour of choice, or take a look at the options posted to the colour options posted on the brightspace page. Art is in progress and we will be placing the order in time for Christmas!
5. If you school ordered spirit wear online, and have received a notification that it has been delivered, your order can be picked up today in the student council office on your lunch.
6. The 180 Team is meeting today on the lunchtimes in the chapel.
7. Attention all girls interested in trying out for the girls hockey team. The first tryout is Mon. Nov. 4 3:30-4:30 at Lions Park and Thurs. Nov 6 3-4pm at Lions Park. Please sign up and take a permission form outside the female phys. Ed office.
8. Attention all boys interested in trying out for our varsity hockey team. Please sign up and take a permission form from the folder outside the female Phys-ed office. Our first tryout will be on Monday, November 3rd, 3:30 to 4:30 at Lions Park. There is no meeting after school today.
9. Do you enjoy Clash Royale? Meet Mr. Lovasic in Room 3003 this Friday after school to sign up for ACS Clash Club. All skill levels are welcome.
10. Looking for volunteer hours? The Glenhyrst Art Gallery is once again seeking student volunteers to assist with our upcoming Brantford Lights at Glenhyrst event. **Those interested can attend a Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, November 12th, from 3:00 – 5:00pm. ** More details can be found on your guidance D2L page.

1. Tomorrow is the biggest fundraiser in our school year. Assumption Scares will begin at 4pm. Please remember the following! Dress for the weather, be in the caf for 4pm, that means all of your team and your drivers too! The costume contest will occur at 4, but if you are not in costume, please wear bright colours. Please eat between 3 to 4, bring water and your boxes! If there is something you need to discuss, please find Ms. Torto in portable 13
2. Applications for the School Council Volunteerism Award are still available in the Main Office. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Nov. 5th at noon.
3. The Tim Hortons at Colborne Street West and Mount Pleasant is looking for volunteers to make and decorate SMILE COOKIES in the afternoons from NOVEMBER 16th to NOVEMBER 22nd from 4-8pm. A meal will be provided. Hours will count towards community service hours. See the volunteer bulletin board or come to 1013 to sign up.
4. Today is Wednesday lions, and “Wednesday’s we wear pink”. Wear pink shirts with uniform bottoms and shoes. Tomorrow is PJ Day. Wear long PJ pants with uniform tops. Discover how lasers can cool things down, keep the world on time, and unlock quantum mysteries. Grab a slip outside of room 3005 to attend.
4. Attention all grade 9, 10, and 11 students! The March 2027 trip to England and France is still looking for travellers! The trip is almost sold out with only 5 spots remaining. 11. Student Services will be holding University and College Workshops for grade 12/13 students on Tuesday, Oct 28th. The University Application Workshop will be during period 1 in your class on Teams. The College Application Workshop will be during period 2 in your class on Teams. Students who are online or on spare will be joining us in the lecture hall.
12. Next week is Spirit week lions! Check out posters around the school and on social media for more information. Monday is Halloween accessories day. Full uniform must be worn, but accessorize with Halloween themed socks, jewelry, shoes, etc. Hats, masks and face covering are not allowed.
13. Attention Jack Chapter: we are having our first general meeting, today at 3:10 PM in the lecture hall. This is for all members who have registered to be in the chapter. If you cannot attend, please contact one of the Dabrowski sisters.
14. Dreaming of Italy? The Religion Department has 8 more spots lefts before we have to open up a waiting list for our March Break trip for 2026. 12. On Friday, our Senior tennis team competed at the CWOSSA championship in Orangeville. Our boys doubles team, made up of Adam B and Matt M, won all their matches and are advancing to OFSSA for the second time. Our team’s mixed doubles, made up of Dylan S and Halle H, also won all their matches and are on their way to OFSSA. Congratulations to both teams and good luck at the OFSSA tournament in Toronto.

2. The Jr. And Sr. Football games scheduled in Paris this Saturday have been moved to Friday night at Kiwanis Field. Come out and support our Jr. And Sr. Football Teams tomorrow night as they take on the Paris Panthers. Game times are 5 and 7pm. Admission is $3 per student and $5 per adult. Hope to see you all there.
3. Boys volleyball will be playing tonight in the gym. Come cheer the team on tonight against Paris!

12. Better late than never announcement about boys’ baseball. The boys finished third overall with one loss in the regular season. Special shout outs, with Mrs. Lytle’s apologies, go to our pitchers: Greyson VDW and Ethan H. Your performances on the plate kept our hearts on the right side of beating; let’s hope the other boys in blue can do the same. Wish the boys luck today in their do-or-die playoff game against Waterford at noon!
