1.   Grade 12s! Regarding the grad retreat. Many parents also paid the fee for the grad retreat when they paid the graduation fee. Be sure to check with your parents and ask if they did pay for the grad retreat. You don’t want to miss it if it’s been paid for. They would have notification of payment to confirm.

2.   TODAY is the last day to purchase your $5 ticket to the “Rock and Soul” spring concert via schoolcashonline. Once ordered, you must be cleared for entry into the concert by signing in at the admissions table. Find the last name where your tickets were purchased and show them your receipt! Easy peasy!

3.   Attention Lions! The LAC is excited to present our brand-new event: the Book Oscars! This is your chance to vote for your favourite books and characters in fun categories like Best Male Character, Best Mystery Book, Best Manga, and more! You can vote by ballots at the display desk in the library or by QR codes around the school. Voting will be open to the entire school, so don’t miss your chance to have your voice heard and help decide this year’s winners.

4.   Attention Grade 12’s attending Prom. Please email Ms. Mosher the names of the people you would like to sit with at your table. Each table seats up to 10 people. Even if your group has fewer than 10, please still send the names of everyone in your group. You have until this Thursday to do so.  You can pick up your physical ticket at the back of the Caf on your lunch today – please bring your receipt. Also, if you did not get a Prom ticket, there are 20 tickets left – go to the main office and put your name on the list – closes this Thursday. Finally, if any student attending Prom is in need of a dress or suit, please visit room 1035 before or after school today to take a look at the formal wear available in various sizes. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Mosher, Mrs. S. Medeiros, or Mrs. Lou-Kay-Zee (Lucchesi).

5.   The Chess club will meet again today in room 2023 after school. Details will be shared on the upcoming tournament, so be sure to attend to book your spot in the tournament.

6.   Reminder to the varsity boys’ baseball team of their practice tomorrow (May 13) at Bill Little Field. Practice will run from 3:30pm – 5:00pm.

7.   The varsity girls’ soccer team battled hard against SJC in the semi-finals yesterday. Unfortunately, SJC snuck in a second goal, taking the lead and claiming the 2-1 win. Well done to our lady lions for showing up and leaving their heart on the field. What an incredible season from all, especially the seniors who are off to bigger places next year: Alex, Danika, Sierra, Sarah, Haley and Harper. Way to make us proud ladies!

8.   The Varsity Boys Soccer Team showed their true identity yesterday with a 3-1 victory over the BCI Mustangs in the semi-final. Eamon N. Scored a brace and Jackson D. Added a great finish to round out the scoring. Tarun A. Was unanimously chosen for man of the match as he shut down BCI’s most dangerous playmaker. The boys have now earned a shot at redemption to take on St. John’s in the final on Thursday at 2pm at North Park. They remember what happened on our home turf and will make sure it won’t happen again. Practice at 7AM tomorrow boys!

9.   Attention students! Ticket sales for the Rainbow Ball have concluded. For those of you who purchased a ticket, you will receive more details via email.

10.  Calling all singers, dancers and actors! Are you interested in being a part of a MUSICAL next year? If so, please come and meet Ms. Capostagno and Mr. DaCosta in room 2005 on Friday May 15th right after school. We are trying to gauge interest because this cannot happen without YOU!

11.  A reminder to all those involved in Band or Vocal Ensemble and travelling to Canada’s Wonderland. You must pick up your mandatory t-shirt for $15 in the music room ASAP! We are marked on our appearance and must be in our music attire.

12.  Hey Lions! If they haven't done so already, students travelling on the England & France trip are asked to come by Room 2052 or Room 1004 to pick up their trip permission forms package. Please return the signed forms with a photocopy of your passport to Mrs. McLaughlin before Monday, June 1st. Remember, these are important documents that allow you to travel!
