1. Lions! Today is your last chance to purchase a $5 holiday lunch for our special day on Friday, December 19. The meal consists of a turkey dinner, consisting of turkey, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. There are vegetarian and Halal options available as well. We are offering this meal for the low price of $5 per plate! We hope to see all of our students participate in this tradition at ACS. Tickets will be sold until midnight tonight, so don’t wait and go into your School Cash Online account to purchase this meal today!
2. Hey Lions! Today is the big day! The 2024-2025 Yearbook will be distributed to Grade 10, 11, and 12 classes during Period 7 today. All students who have paid their activity fees from the last academic year will receive a yearbook. Yearbooks will be available after school today, as well as next week, in room 2028 for those who are away, have a Spare, Co-op, or online course. Make sure you write your name in your yearbook immediately after you receive it.
3. Attention all grade 12 students: if you have not already registered and paid for graduation, you need to do so ASAP! Please go to the grad D2L page to register. Payment for the grad fee via School Cash Online has been opened once again and will close on Monday, December 15th at 3pm.
4. The lost and found will be cleaned out on Wednesday December 17th. Please check it before then if you have lost something. All items will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.

8. Attention Grade 12 SHSM students in Health Care, Child Care, and Social Justice Sectors. Your First Aid and CPR Training is on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Make sure you have handed in your permission forms to the Guidance office ASAP.
9. Attention all those going to see “White Christmas” at the Shaw Festival on Wednesday, December 17th – our departure time has moved up to 8:20a.m. Please make arrangements to be at the music room door at that time or the bus will leave without you! Make sure to be wearing nice clothing (no ripped jeans) and bring a lunch or money for a lunch. We will return to ACS by 5pm.
10. A gentle reminder for those in Concert Band to pick up their music in the music room for next year’s concerts. Also, Santa is bringing you a metronome this year.

1. Bring in a toonie on Wednesday for a special treat! Tim Horton’s hot chocolate, fresh popcorn, cookies and pop will be sold at the back of the cafeteria during all three lunches. All proceeds will go to Pennies from Heaven.
2. Congratulations to those that participated in the quake model United Nations on Friday. The level of debate was impressive. A special thanks goes out to the executive team of Haneet, Simran and Tanisha for their planning and leadership of the day. Congratulations to Matthew Srcip-ik, Max Durcek and Ethan Ellen-my who were voted top delegates by their peers. A special shout out to Mariam, Caterine , Marta and Divine for their fierce protection of their nations. Well done!

2. The Semi-Formal Dance is TONIGHT from 7-10pm! A reminder that NO cash sales or resold tickets will be accepted at the door. Please remember to bring your ACS student card or another form of ID to confirm your identity. Please note we will be using the STUDENT ENTRANCE for this event. Doors will remain open from 7-8pm. No late admissions will be allowed without prior approval. Please remember that access to lockers will not be available during the dance, and you will not be permitted to leave the dance and return. Coat check will be available for bags and other items if needed. The dance theme is Midnight Stars. Students are encouraged to wear their best attire and dress to excess. Please remember that outfits must adhere to the student code of conduct, and should reflect the moral tone of ACS.
3. As we have entered the holiday season, ACS is preparing a special day on Friday, December 19, to celebrate as a school community. Part of our school’s great tradition for this day is to hold a holiday lunch for students and staff. 10. This is an important announcement for all those going to “Starfest” on Monday, December 8th. The bus leaves at 7a.m. - yes A.M.! Be sure to message one of the teachers in charge if you’re running late or the bus will leave without you. Don’t forget to wear ALL BLACK and bring a lunch if you don’t want pizza. Have your song downloaded on your phones and with a USB.

Sports
1. The girls hockey team has started the season off by making some big waves this week. First they won the Paris tournament by winning 4 games back to back with next to no break. The regular season started Monday and the girls beat BCI 3-1. The girls finished off their strong week by dominating SJC in a 6-0 win. Victoria Sharp scored 4 goals while Julia McIntosh and caleigh lord added singles. Kayli sault played solid in net in all 6 games!
2. The senior boy's basketball team claimed first-place with a 20-point win over SJC last night. The boys battled hard in the first half and eventually pulled away from the eagles in the second half. Destin played a great defensive game. Emanuel, Andrew and Dami took home a combined 50+ points. Well done, boys!

1. Today’s the day! It’s ACS’s Annual Christmas Concert: All You Need is Christmas – A Beatles Holiday Celebration! Join us TONIGHT, doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and can only be purchased at the door. Come out for a magical night of music, cheer, and Beatles-inspired holiday spirit!
2. Candygrams are being sold at the back of the caf Thursday and Friday every week until the last week of classes. All proceeds go to Pennies From Heaven. Come check out the table by the library, pick your candy gift and fill out the form to have it sent to a friend or a special someone. The Social Justice class will deliver them on the Thursday before we end for Christmas break!.
