1.   Candy grams will be sold this week Thursday and Friday  - They will be your LAST chance to buy them. All candygrams will be delivered next week from Dec 17 to 19. 

2.   Attention ACE Committee Members! We will be meeting in Portable 8 during senior lunch today. Bring a friend and your ideas. See you there! 

3.   French club is meeting today. Come out for our Christmas Escape Room and some delicious snacks. All welcome. Meet in Room 2004 right after school.  

4.   Attention Lions!  Have you ever wanted to walk behind a waterfall, see natural hot springs, hike on a glacier or explore volcanic landscapes straight out of a movie? Now’s your chance! Join the unforgettable trip to Iceland!  It’s packed with breathtaking scenery, unique culture, and experiences you’ll remember forever.  The trip is open to all students who have taken grade 9 Geography. An information meeting for students and parents will be held on December 15 at 6 PM in the lecture hall. 

5.   Today's special in the servery will be Tex Mex Loaded fries or Nachos made with Tex Mex beef, salsa, cheese sauce, sour cream and green onions for $8.25. Plain nachos and cheese sauce $4.99.   Cinnamon buns today at 10:15 am. Have a great day.

1.   Attention all grade 12 students: have you both registered and paid for graduation?   If you have not, please go to the grad D2L page to register and ensure you pay the grad fee via School Cash Online because the deadline is TODAY Friday, December 5th. 

2.   The Semi-Formal Dance is TONIGHT from 7-10pm! A reminder that NO cash sales or resold tickets will be accepted at the door. Please remember to bring your ACS student card or another form of ID to confirm your identity. Please note we will be using the STUDENT ENTRANCE for this event. Doors will remain open from 7-8pm. No late admissions will be allowed without prior approval. Please remember that access to lockers will not be available during the dance, and you will not be permitted to leave the dance and return. Coat check will be available for bags and other items if needed. The dance theme is Midnight Stars. Students are encouraged to wear their best attire and dress to excess. Please remember that outfits must adhere to the student code of conduct, and should reflect the moral tone of ACS. 

3.   As we have entered the holiday season, ACS is preparing a special day on Friday, December 19, to celebrate as a school community. Part of our school’s great tradition for this day is to hold a holiday lunch for students and staff. The meal consists of a turkey dinner, consisting of turkey, stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. There are vegetarian and Halal options available as well. We are offering this meal for the low price of $5 per plate. We hope to see all of our students participate in this tradition at ACS. The deadline for meal purchases is December 9, so don’t wait and go into your School Cash Online account to purchase this meal today! 

4.   Today is the final day for jewelry sales at the back of the cafeteria.  

5.   Junior Badminton next week will be Tuesday and Thursday Morning at 7:10am. Please bring a signed permission form.  

6.   Are you stuck on what to get your friends and fam for Christmas? The library’s got the perfect solution—used books for just $2 each! Affordable, thoughtful, and totally gift-worthy. Swing by and grab yours before they’re gone! 

7.   French club is meeting on Thursday December 11th after school in room 2004 for a Christmas Escape Room activity. All are welcome. Come out and practice your French and have some delicious snacks. See Madame Pace if you have any questions. 

8.   Do you like donuts? Delicious donuts? Well if you do, then you deserve some donuts! Join us at The Latino Club this Tuesday after school for frying Buñuelos and good eating! 

9.   There will be a Jack Chapter meeting for general membership, today after school in the lecture hall. A reminder that only those who applied and were accepted into the chapter in the beginning of the year are the students who can attend the meetings. For those who cannot attend, please respond on the Jack Chapter D2L page. Thank you and have a mentally healthy day.  

10.  This is an important announcement for all those going to “Starfest” on Monday, December 8th. The bus leaves at 7a.m. - yes A.M.! Be sure to message one of the teachers in charge if you’re running late or the bus will leave without you. Don’t forget to wear ALL BLACK and bring a lunch if you don’t want pizza. Have your song downloaded on your phones and with a USB.  

11.  Today's special in the servery will be Buffalo Chicken Poutine topped with popcorn chicken, mozzarella cheese, green onions and ranch dressing for $7.25. Cinnamon buns available at 10:15.

Sports

1.   The girls hockey team has started the season off by making some big waves this week.   First they won the Paris tournament by winning 4 games back to back with next to no break.  The regular season started Monday and the girls beat BCI 3-1. The girls finished off their strong week by dominating SJC in a 6-0 win. Victoria Sharp scored 4 goals while Julia McIntosh and caleigh lord added singles. Kayli sault played solid in net in all 6 games!  

 2.  The senior boy's basketball team claimed first-place with a 20-point win over SJC last night. The boys battled hard in the first half and eventually pulled away from the eagles in the second half. Destin played a great defensive game. Emanuel, Andrew and Dami took home a combined 50+ points. Well done, boys!

1.   Attention all grade 12 students: the time has come to both register and pay for graduation.

3.   For those graduates who booked their grad photos for today, please check your emails as you have been given an alternate date and time. Photos will begin tomorrow. We are sorry for the inconvenience.  

4.   Get ready for ACS’s Annual Christmas Concert: All You Need is Christmas – A Beatles Holiday Celebration! Join us on Wednesday, December 3rd, doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased on School Cash Online or at the door. Come out for a magical night of music, cheer, and Beatles-inspired holiday spirit!

Welcome to December Lions!

Tuesday November 25, 2025

1.   This year’s semi-formal dance is coming up on Friday, December 5th from 7-10pm. The theme is “Midnight Stars”! Tickets will be sold for $15 on school cash online from Wednesday, November 26th to Wednesday, December 3rd. Guest tickets will be sold Nov 27- Dec 3 at the back of the caf, but permission forms must be completed before purchase. This event is likely to sell out so be sure to get your tickets early if you want to attend. 

2.   Candygrams are being sold at the back of the caf Thursday and Friday every week until the last week of classes. All proceeds go to Pennies From Heaven. Come check out the table by the library, pick your candy gift and fill out the form to have it sent to a friend or a special someone.  The Social Justice class will deliver them on the Thursday before we end for Christmas break!. 

3.   All athletes interested in joining the Junior Badminton club, we will begin next week, Monday December 1 and Wednesday December 3 at 7:10am. Please grab a permission form by the female physed office.

5.   CHRISTMAS POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER –  Hey Lions, this is a reminder of our poinsettia fundraiser.  Order forms and money are to be brought to the Girls Phys Ed Office.  You have until Thursday, November 27 to bring in your orders.  This fundraiser helps support the athletics department, leadership and this year's Spring Fling Prom for our special education students.  You can also purchase through School Cash Online.  Please help support this by selling these beautiful flowers.  It is a great way to help decorate for the holiday season.  Forms are available in the main office or Girls P.E. office.  See Ms. Lancaster for more details if necessary.   

6.   Attention Lions!  The Quebec City trip is now open to all Lions from grades 9 to 12!  Hurry up and secure your spot today buy picking up a sign-up sheet in room 2010! 

7.   Latino Club is TODAY! Join us after school for our Treasure Hunt! Follow the clues, find the hidden treasures, and win prizes! Everyone welcome — see you there in room 3026.

9.   Today's special in the servery will be Mashed potato bowl topped with popcorn chicken, corn, mozzarella cheese and gravy for $7.25. Also available will be popcorn chicken and fries for $7.75 and popcorn chicken poutine for $7.25. Cinnamon buns available today however due to the liturgy schedule won't be available until 11 am. Also cafe will be closed after announcements for period 1 for the marketplace event.
