1. Come celebrate Día de Muertos with the Latino Club — join the baking fiesta this Tuesday after school in Room 2078!  

2. SHSM Health Care Focus new recruits- forms need to be signed this week. Please visit room 2029 during periods 2, 3 and 4. New signups need to have forms signed before Oct 30th. 

3. Attention STEM Club members: Join us in the Lecture Hall on Tuesday, October 28th during senior lunch as we welcome back Shriyak, a U of T student, for a special STEM talk: “How Cool are Lasers?”. Discover how lasers can cool things down, keep the world on time, and unlock quantum mysteries. Grab a slip outside of room 3005 to attend. 

4. Attention all grade 9, 10, and 11 students! The March 2027 trip to England and France is still looking for travellers! The trip is almost sold out with only 5 spots remaining. For more information, please speak to or email Mrs. McLaughlin or Ms. Capostagno, or grab a flyer with registration information outside room 2052. Don’t miss out! 

5. ACS book clubbers, today is the last day to submit your 2-sentence scary story! Send your eerie entries to asantos@bhncdsb.ca. All stories will be read and voted on at the meeting this Monday! The top story wins bragging rights and a treat.  Let the chills begin. 

6. The next ACS Book Club meeting is scheduled for this Monday, October 27 right after school . Meet in the library! I look forward to seeing you there.

7. Attention all Grade 10 Core and all Extended French students!  Are you interested in joining the Québec trip this February? Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity! Pick up an information package and registration form posted on the room 2010 door.  The last day to sign up is November 10th! 

8. If you signed up for STARFEST then you must fill out the form found on D2L by midnight TONIGHT! See Mr. DaCosta or Ms. O’Neill if you are not yet added to the D2L page. This is your last chance to join the competition! 

9. You are invited to the next Environment Club meeting on Monday the 27th. Meet Mrs. Walsh in Room 3024 at 3pm to help out with the Community Gardens at Edith Monture Park. 

10. Don't forget! There will be a very brief, but very important, meeting for all students attending the “Macbeth” Trip to Stratford next Wednesday. Please meet Ms. Gomez and Mrs. Belina today in the Lecture Hall directly after announcements.  You will be called out of class directly after announcements. 

11. Student Services will be holding University and College Workshops for grade 12/13 students on Tuesday, Oct 28th.  The University Application Workshop will be during period 1 in your class on Teams.  The College Application Workshop will be during period 2 in your class on Teams.  Students who are online or on spare will be joining us in the lecture hall.   

12. Next week is Spirit week lions! Check out posters around the school and on social media for more information. Monday is Halloween accessories day. Full uniform must be worn, but accessorize with Halloween themed socks, jewelry, shoes, etc. Hats, masks and face covering are not allowed. 

13. Attention Jack Chapter: we are having our first general meeting, today at 3:10 PM in the lecture hall. This is for all members who have registered to be in the chapter. If you cannot attend, please contact one of the Dabrowski sisters. 

14. Dreaming of Italy? The Religion Department has 8 more spots lefts before we have to open up a waiting list for our March Break trip for 2026. If you have any questions please contact either Miss D.Dabrowski, Mr. Prior, Ms. Mosher, or Mr. Martorelli. There will be an upcoming meeting for any students that are still interested.  

15. Today's special in the servery will be Buffalo Chicken poutine -popcorn chicken drenched in franks red hot sauce, mozzarella cheese, gravy, ranch dressing drizzled on top and green onions for $7.25
