Attention Lions.  Our next Casual Dress Day will take place on Wednesday, March 6th.  Students are required to bring in two dollars to dress casually.  All funds collected will go towards the Why Not Youth Centre in Brantford.

We're baaaa-aack! If you missed vocal ensemble, we are resuming Tuesday, March 5th. Come to the Music Room from 3-4pm. This is the last day where new members are welcome!

The first try out for the Girls Varsity Soccer Team will be TODAY from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. It will be an indoor try out in the gym.  Please make sure you sign up and have a completed permission form in order to participate.

Listen up ACS Knitting Club, our next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 19th in Portable 17 from 3-4 pm. There is NO meeting this Tuesday. Thank you for all you do. Continue to knit squares and blankets for the SPCA. Mr. Cameron

Attention Graduating Class of 2024!  Don’t forget to read the essays for the 10 students nominated for this year’s Valedictorian.  Essays are posted outside of the Main Office.  Voting for Valedictorian will take place on Thursday, March 7th.  

Attention all students interested in playing Senior Football next year.  There will be an important Off-Season Meeting on Wednesday, March 6th in the Lecture Hall at 11:35am.  Students in Grade 10 must first seek permission from their Period 3 teachers to attend.  The meeting should be approximately 40 minutes.  This is the first step in defending our OFSAA title.  See you there! 

Attention Indigenous Graduating Students!  Please check D2L for a newly posted scholarship opportunity.  This award is comprised of $5,000 scholarships that will be distributed annually to 3 Indigenous students from Ontario pursuing their first year of post-secondary studies.

Attention LEAP-ers!  We are thrilled to announce our upcoming writing contest, titled "Marching Toward Spring: Anticipation and Winter Thaw." This contest invites all Assumption College School students to showcase their creative talents and celebrate the beauty of March through the written word.  Participants are encouraged to explore the emotions, experiences, and transformations associated with the transition from winter to spring in March.  Whether you have a passion for short stories, poetry, personal essays, or art critiques, this is your chance to shine! Capture the essence of anticipation and the gradual winter thaw as we transition into spring.  Please see the LEAP information board by Student Services or the LEAP D2L homepage for more information! Please submit your writing pieces to the LEAP D2L page Dropbox titled “2024 Marching Toward Spring: Anticipation and Winter Thaw” or send directly to Mrs. McLaughlin via email by Friday, March 29th, 2024.    Winners will be announced on ATV by Monday, April 8th, 2024.

All students who have signed up and registered for Track and Field using the QR code outside Mr. Petrella’s office, the first training session is scheduled for TODAY after school at 3pm.  Students are expected to dress for the weather.  See you at the track at 3pm.

Don't forget today is Book club. Meetings are happening today during both lunches in the library's Innovation lab. Look forward to seeing you there.

Reminder to Mrs. Cameron's Period 2 and Period 4 Grade 9 Religion/Art classes meet directly in the Chapel. Bring art supplies/art to class tomorrow instead. See you at the Chapel for the retreat!

There will be a brief meeting for those wanting to join the Boys Bantam and Junior Rugby teams Friday after school by the Male Phys-Ed office. No prior rugby experience is necessary. If you cannot make it to the meeting and want to play, please contact Mr. Prior or Doctor Denison-Hewko.

Our Jack Chapter is Assumption's Mental Health Awareness team, dedicated to organizing local events and engaging in impactful initiatives.  Join us for a mandatory Jack Chapter meeting this Friday at 3:05pm in the Lecture Hall. We are delighted to welcome Ms. Wdowczyk-Meade as our guest speaker, sharing insights on mental health awareness within our school and at the board level. Additionally, we will be outlining plans for the upcoming year. Please arrive on time, and let's look forward to a productive and inspiring meeting!

Today the 180 Team is meeting on both lunchtimes in the Chapel. Please come promptly at the beginning of your lunchtime. There is a guest speaker and volunteer opportunities to sign up for. New students are always welcome. 

The Big Day has finally arrived, STEM Olympics begin TODAY!  A total of 34 teams across 4 grades are competing for the ultimate prize, to be named STEM Champions and to have their names forever engraved on the STEM trophy.  Four consecutive lunch hours, four grueling events, it all will take its toll on the participants. Who will emerge victorious? That has yet to be determined!   Grades 9 & 11 - will meet in Room 3005.  Grades 10 & 12 - will meet in Room 3004.  Let the battles begin!

This Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day.  This is a celebration of moments of kindness, empathy, and understanding that can mean so much to children impacted by bullying.   On Wednesday, students may replace their uniform top with a pink shirt.

There will be a Yearbook Club meeting TODAY after school. The meeting will start at 3:05pm in Room 2028. Yearbook Club will meet EVERY TUESDAY after school. New and past members are encouraged to come! 

Attention students writing the Waterloo Math Contest.  Today, afterschool, Mr. Stec will be running a practice session in Room 3011 to look over past contest questions in preparation for tomorrow's contest.  The Grade 9, 10 and 11 contest is tomorrow morning in the Library.  If you have signed up, please come to the Library first thing in the morning and ready to write.  

Grade 12s, today is the last day to sign up for the Euclid Math Contest.  Please contact or see Mr. Stec in Room 3011 by the end of the day to have your name included.

In 2011 he moved to Singapore to build the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure before moving back to Orlando to engineer such rides as Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, King Kong, and Hagrid's Magical Motorbike Adventure. His new project is Universal's new theme park called Epic Universe! Come see how coasters are designed, watch some cool videos and lose yourself in the ride.  Dismissal times are 11:20 & 12:40, Don't be late!

We are looking for Grade 10 students to be leaders for the Grade 9 retreat sessions this semester. It's a great opportunity for youth leadership. Course Registration for the 2024-2025 school year are now past due.  During Period 4 TODAY (not period 1 due to the elementary musical), students are asked to return their Signed Course Selection sheets and their School Cash Online Receipt to our secretarial team in the cafeteria.  Students are only to be released from class if they have shown their teachers the two pieces of paper required for registration.

Grade 10 students! Are you ready to try your hand at leadership? We are looking for grade 10 students to be leaders for the grade 9 retreat sessions this semester. They are held on site in the school this year and you can sign up for the periods that are most convenient for you. You must attend a mandatory training session next week on Monday in the chapel at grade 10 lunchtime. 

Are you a grade 12 or 13 Student?  Have you applied to St. Jerome’s University at the University of Waterloo?  If so, please email Ms. Christie by this Friday February 23rd.

Course Registration for the 2024-2025 school year are now due.  During period 1, students are asked to return their Signed Course Selection sheets and their School Cash Online Receipt to our secretarial team in the cafeteria.  Students are only to be released from class if they have shown their teachers the two pieces of paper required for registration.  Course Selection sheets and School Cash Online Receipts will be collected until Wednesday, February 21st (today).

The Girls Rugby Team will have their second tryout TODAY in the gym. Practice will run from 3:10pm to 4:30pm. Please bring your permission form.

The GSA is meeting TODAY. The first lunch meeting will be in Room 1007, and the second lunch meeting will be in Portable 15.

This is just a reminder to those in Junior Band that we have rehearsal TODAY.  Please make sure to arrange your transportation home.  See you at 3pm in the Music Room.

Attention students doing hair and makeup for Thursday's show for elementary students.  Please arrive as close to 7:30am as possible.

Any student who is interested in AP Calculus, or would like to find out more about it, there will be a meeting TODAY on second lunch in Room 3004.  If you have any questions about AP Calculus and how it fits in your University plans, we’ll answer all of your questions today at lunchtime in Room 3004.

The meetings for Retreat Leaders for the Grade 9 retreat sessions this semester are taking place TODAY on both lunches in the Chapel. Please come promptly right away at the beginning of your lunchtime. This is your opportunity to sign up for the times and dates for the retreat sessions.

There will be a meeting for the Black Heritage Month fashion show this Friday, February 23rd in the gym from 3-5 pm. All those interested in participating in the fashion show during our BHM assembly are welcome to attend.
