Morning Announcements

As part of Mr. Page's retirement celebration, he would love to get a picture of all his final classes. This Friday, at the beginning of each lunch (11:40 for grade 11s, 12:50 for grade 12s), he invites all his former semester I and present students to Room 3005 to be a part of the pictures. Wear a STEM shirt if you have one. He hopes to see you there!

Attention all Simba Award recipients.  Please be in the Lecture Hall this Thursday May 9th at 8am for our Awards presentation.

Any "Magic the Gathering" players interested in participating in a tournament Friday at Paris District High School, please sign up in the library. Grade 9's and 11's meet Mr. Hare in the library at first lunch.  Grade 10's and 12's are to see Mr. Hare in Room 3014 during second lunch.

Can't afford the Eras Tour concert tickets? ACDC tickets sold out? Well, we have another option for you. $5 gets you into the ACS music concert on Wednesday, May 15th @ 7pm. Come support the local talent! Merch table and autograph signings will be at the end of the night. 

Get excited! “Clue” tickets will begin selling on Monday, May 13th at the back of the caf during both lunches for $5.00 each. Make sure to join the grade 12 drama class on May 30th, as you only have one night to see the chaos. Aren’t you dying to know who did it?

Hello Grade 12’s!!  It’s our last year to enjoy our high school experience so why not do something that we weren’t able to do because of COVID!!  Join us for a grade 12 COLOUR NIGHT!! A night for grade 12 to celebrate and enjoy playing games with friends. It’s $5 a ticket sold at the back of the cafeteria during second lunch.  Pizza and pop will be sold at the event and all proceeds will be donated to Haiti. And don’t forget you have a chance to win an $100 Amazon gift card! all you have to do is donate! For every dollar you donate your name is entered into a draw to win! So don’t forget to bring extra cash!  YOUR LAST CHANCE TO BUY IS THIS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AT LUNCH.  The event is this FRIDAY!!!!!!  P.S you are not permitted to wear your colours to school on Friday - arrive to the event in your colour!!!!!

Student council is proud to present this year's spring dance: "Blooming into Spring". The dance will take place on May 16th from 6-9pm in the school cafeteria. Tickets are NOW AVAILABLE on school cash online for $7. Please pay close attention to the event name when purchasing your ticket as the Rainbow Ball and the Spring Dance are not the same thing. Guest tickets can be purchased with cash at the back of the cafeteria until Monday. Guest forms can be picked up in the main office and must be completed before a ticket can be purchased. This event has limited capacity so make sure to buy your tickets before it is too late!

LEAP is very excited to present our LEAP Mosaics with a theme of Myths & Legends. You can choose an ancient myth or legend that captivates your imagination. Whether it be the epic tales of Greek Gods and heroes, the mystical stories of Norse mythology, or the enchanting folklore of other cultures, you can even create your own story!  Express yourself in poetry, narrative storytelling, or art. Your contribution will join those of your fellow students, forming a stunning mosaic that celebrates the timeless beauty and power of ancient mythology. Each entry receives one LEAP point. All entries should be no bigger than 8.5 by 11 inches and are due by Tuesday, May 21. The final mosaic will be displayed outside of the library. To submit your piece, please contact Ms. Engell or reach out to LEAP co-presidents, Harkirat Virk and Seerat Virk.

There is a very quick and important meeting immediately after this morning’s announcements for all Track and Field Athletes.  Please go to Mr. P’s office to confirm your events for the AABHN Track and Field Meet this Thursday and Friday.  Confirmation of athletes and your events are due by 3pm today.  If you do not confirm your event, you will not be entered into the AABHN meet this week for a chance to compete at CWOSSA. 

ACS book club will be meeting today during both lunches. If you are planning to enter your piece in the book we are creating, don't forget your final draft is due today. Meetings will be held in the library's Innovation lab. See you there.

The Brantford CYO Girls Basketball Annual Scholarship will be granted to two graduating female students who are entering university or college the following school year. There will be two $500 scholarships available each year.  See D2L for application details.
