1. Attention grade 12 and 13 students who missed the University and/or College Application Workshops. You are invited to attend the workshop in the Lecture Hall on Wednesday, November 6th at 11:30am.
2. Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board in partnership with YMCA Immigration Settlement Services are hosting a Newcomer Healthy Mind Awareness Night, tonight from 5-7pm at Assumption College). This event will bring together local service providers, students, parents, and caregivers. Our hope is to promote collaboration in our community, to offer information about mental health services in our community to our Newcomer population. We want to open our school to create a hub for community partnerships and learning for parents and caregivers. This event is free, with pizza, and door prizes for raffle draws at the event. Many of our Assumption students and Prefects have offered to volunteer at this event – all volunteers are asked to register at the sign in table at 4pm to ensure you get your volunteer hours and know your location assignment (where you will be assisting the service providers in the cafeteria) to support the event with set-up.
3. Religion Study hall for grades 9-10 is held every Tuesday/Thursday in room 1004 run by Mrs. Cameron. Bring your lunch and come to get some help if needed. You can do it!
4. There will be a brief meeting, after school in the cafeteria, for all players that are trying out for the boy's varsity hockey team. This includes last year's players.
5. ACS Knit Club. Batch 4 of scarves for the homeless shelter has been dropped off. Our meeting is this Wed, Nov 6th from 3-4 in room 1004. You make a difference! Blessings, Mrs. Cameron
6. Amplify Your Culture is almost here! Period 1 teachers, please reach out to Ms. Torto by replying to the invitation email to attend with your period 1 class. All participants in Amplify, we are so excited to hold this event and look forward to seeing you in the caf before morning announcements to set up!
7. This is a reminder for all DECA members. Your pre-competition test is scheduled for this Thursday, November 7, after school in Room 2006. This is a mandatory test you must complete this Thursday after school in order to attend Sunday’s regional competition. Please see Mr. Virdo with any questions.
8. Vocal Ensemble members are reminded of your ‘sectional’ audition tonight! Successful candidates will be going to the elementary school tours on November 29th. A reminder we end early at 3:30 tonight! See Mrs. Ratelband if you cannot attend.
9. What makes a better gift than a new book and gives back to your school library at the same time? A book fair! That’s what! The library and Beach Reads bookstore are teaming up to bring you the first ever online book fair! 20% of all purchases go right back to our school library. 10. Let’s respect and help keep our community clean Lions. Please use the garbage cans when you are at the plaza or elsewhere on lunch. If you are walking back to school, please wait and use the garbage cans here at ACS. Let’s Keep Our Community Green and Clean.
