Attention members of Vocal Ensemble: those that want to sing for the Thanksgiving Mass are reminded to come to the gym at 8:30a.m. on Thursday, October 5th (tomorrow) for sound check and final rehearsal. IF you missed rehearsal but still want to be part of the Mass please email Mrs. Ratelband so she can get you caught up on the songs.
Attention all Cross-Country Runners! There will be a MANDATORY meeting Thursday during both lunches. Grade 9s and 11s please go to Room 1004. Grade 10s and 12s please go to Room 3015. All runners who will participate in the races next week must have signed permission forms. Thanks from your coaches!

Ensure you get your tickets early as this event is likely to sell out. A reminder that guest tickets will be sold at the back of the cafeteria until Monday only. Completed guest forms are still available in the main office and must be filled out completely before a ticket will be sold. Only one guest per ACS student is allowed, and they must be enrolled in high school.
The Brant County Health Unit will be resuming the program HEROS (Health Educators Reaching Other Students) beginning Tuesday, October 10. HEROS is geared towards high school students aged 13-18. The program's primary focus is to have fun while learning about and promoting messages on Healthy living and tobacco and substance prevention. Students can gain volunteer hours and receive a letter of reference after the program. Any interested students, please feel free to come to the office to pick up a flyer.
CWAYC is proud inform you about an exciting opportunity that is available to all ACS students. The Forum for Young Canadians is hosting the My Canada Project. Students between the ages of 14 and 18 are being asked to answer the question “What does Canada mean to you?” My Canada Project entries can be submitted in any format that can be uploaded, such as: a poem, an essay, a speech, a song, a video, a photo, artwork or other. Projects can be submitted IN ANY LANGUAGE. What does Canada inspire in you? How can we grow? What hope and vision do you hold for Canada’s future? Projects must be handed into the My Canada Project website at mycanada.forum.ca by October 13th. For further details, see the CWAYC bulletin board outside student services or email Mrs. Flanagan.

Thank you to all those who tried out for stage manager and props manager. The results are posted outside of the drama room. We are asking that the Stage Managers and Assistant Stage Managers come to rehearsal on Monday, October 2nd. Crew who auditioned are asked to check their email and send a response to Mrs. Ratelband by the end of the day TODAY! This event is the is an awesome opportunity to help fill the cupboards at the St. Vincente de Paul, and it is a fun night here at the school where you will work with a team to collect canned food donations from all over west brant. You also will earn 10 hours of community service if you participate in the event and the meetings! So be sure to mark your calendars for junior and senior lunch time, in the lecture hall, on October 2nd and we explain the whole event to you then!

Do you want to enrich your high school experience by being involved in a club that is also connected on a national level? Then the ACS Jack.Org Chapter is for you! THE ACS Jack.Org Chapter is Assumption's Mental Health Awareness Team that meets on Fridays. The chapter takes lead on mental health initiatives, anti-bullying week, social media campaigns, and various initiatives on a local and national level. The first meeting will take place on Friday October 13, 2023, at 3:05 PM. The location of the meeting is to be determined! Information sessions will be hosted TODAY during first lunch and right after school in room 3007. Please see Ms. Ristov for more details.
There is a meeting for the 180 Team TODAY on both lunchtimes in the chapel. Bring your lunch and you are welcome to bring a friend, too. The meetings will begin 10 minutes after the lunch bells ring. Tomorrow is mandatory training for retreat leaders in the chapel on both lunch times.

Hey Lions! Our Homecoming Dance is coming up on Thursday, October 12th. Ticket sales will begin next week, but NOW is the time to pick up guest forms if you plan on bringing a friend from another school. A reminder for new students: there is a limit of one guest per ACS student, and they must be enrolled in high school. Guest permission forms can be picked up in the main office and must be completed BEFORE a ticket can be purchased for them.

Lions, we are MORE than impressed at the turnout for auditions for ACS's musical: "Footloose"! The FINAL CAST LIST is posted outside the drama room door. The position of Stage Manager and Props Manager will be interviewed next week Wednesday, Sept. 27th. Sign up for an interview time on the bulletin board outside the drama room. In addition, there is a POTENTIAL list of crew members based on what you said in your form during auditions. A final process is needed before crew is chosen.
