Just a reminder that the Latin club will be meeting in Room 2006 TODAY at 11:35am. This is an important meeting to attend as we will be discussing the lip dub.
The final STEM meeting of the year is TODAY during both lunches. We have 9 former lions coming back to the den to share their stories about the STEM programs they are taking at university. Schools such as Queens, Trent, University of Toronto, Waterloo, Western, Guelph, MacMaster, Brock, and Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) are all being represented. Come hear about their programs, their schools, the food, the residences, ask questions, network and get a feel for what post-secondary education is all about. Dismissal times are 11:15am and 12:35pm.

Thank you to over 100 lions who were paired this semester to receive Prefect help. We wish you all the best as you wrap up semester 2. Burford District Elementary School is hosting their Fun Fair June 13th from 4:30-7:00 pm. They are looking for volunteers to assist with this event. Please see the poster on the Volunteer Board outside of Student Services or visit the Guidance D2L page for more information. This is a great event for those last-minute volunteer opportunities.
Calling all students with Italian Heritage, The Italian Village needs volunteers this July with the return of the International Villages. This week is Spirit Week. Student Council has organized the following:
• Tuesday – Crocs/Sandals Day. Students may replace their uniform shoes with crocs/sandals.
• Wednesday – Paid Casual Dress Day. Students can bring in $2.00 to dress casually. All proceeds collected will go towards the ACS Spring Fling.
• Thursday – Crazy Hair Day
• Friday – Spirit Wear and Lip Dub video recording. Please see the posters around school for route information and team locations.

You MUST hand in a completed permission and health form in order to attend the retreat if you haven't already done so. All field trips require a permission form in order to leave school property. You will not be able to board the bus without it. Check your school email for a message from Mrs. Sheldrake with the form or you can pick one up at Mrs. Sheldrake's office. On Tuesday morning you are to meet Mrs. Sheldrake and the supervising teachers at the bell at 8:50am at the back main entrance of the school by the student parking lot. The buses will be leaving at 9:00 sharp. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing that is in keeping with our school's non-uniform dress policy.

Attention all grade 12 students who have signed up for the grad Retreat. It is NOT this week. Camp Marydale had to reschedule the retreat. It is taking place next week on Tuesday May 23rd following the holiday Monday.

The Shellard Lane Association is offering various volunteer opportunities for their initiative in bringing sports events to the area. Please see the bulletin board outside of Student Services or the Guidance D2L page for more information.
Are you an Arabic- speaking newcomer between the ages of 16-18? McMaster University is conducting a research study called Thriving Together to learn about how young people are adjusting and what supports are necessary. Your answers are confidential. For completing the survey you will receive a $15 gift card. You will also be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of 3 gift cards worth $100. To take part, you must be16 to 18 years old, arrived in Canada after January 2015, and be from an Arabic-speaking country. Registration info is on the bulletin board in TLC.

Attention all Visual Art SHSM students! There is a visual art trip to Toronto to visit the ROM happening on Thursday, May 25th. This is free for Visual Art SHSM students. See Ms. Benoit in the art rooms to get a permission form TODAY. There are limited spots available, and the trip is first come, first served.
We have an announcement from Mrs. Sheldrake. Students who are going tomorrow to the student conference are to meet her at the bell at 8:50am at the back of the school where the buses come in at the student parking lot.
STEM Council Meeting 2023-2024: Anyone interested in being a part of next year's planning committee for STEM is asked to attend a meeting after school on Tuesday May 16th in Room 3005.
There will be a STEM Presentation on Thursday May 18th. Mario Positano, a computer digital animator from Sheridan College will be here to share his story.

If you need to buy a ticket for your guest, this can be done on your lunch at the back of the caf during this week. You MUST have your guests’ signed form. Please note that ONLY guest tickets can be purchased with cash – ACS students must get their ticket online. Dances have sold out, so don’t wait to get your ticket. This is the final dance of the year, so you don’t want to miss out!

McMaster University is conducting a research study called Thriving Together to learn about how young people are adjusting and what supports are necessary. Your answers are confidential. For completing the survey you will receive a $15 gift card. You will also be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of 3 gift cards worth $100.
