Monday May 11, 2026

1.   Grade 12s who have paid for the grad retreat taking place on Tuesday, May 19th, at Camp Marydale. Be sure to stop by Mrs. Sheldrake’s office to pick up permission form. You cannot get on the bus without handing in a signed permission form.

2.   You ready for the concert that will knock your socks off? The Spring Concert is happening in only 2 days' time!! Get your tickets on schoolcashonline NOW! Good news is you can buy for your family and friends as well for only $5 each. You don’t want to miss the Rock and Soul concert featuring artists such as Metallica, Queen, Aretha Franklin, The Cranberries, ACDC, U2 and more! Hope to see you there! 

3.   Come out and see “Dead Poets Society”on Thursday, May 28th, with doors opening at 5:30pm and the show from 6pm till 8pm.  Tickets are only $5 and will be on schoolcashonline soon, so keep an eye on ATV for that information. Until then, carpe diem lions! 

4.   Attention students! The Rainbow Ball is happening this Thursday! Get ready to dress up in your most glamorous semi‑formal attire and celebrate with students from all local public and Catholic high schools at this WICKED‑themed event. This year’s ball will take place at North Park, and transportation from ACS will be provided. Tickets are on sale now—see Ms. Nuhu in the staff room to purchase yours. Don’t miss out on this wickedly magical night! 

5.   Hey Lions, want to make your mark on the next ACS Yearbook? Look for the Yearbook posters around the school for more information on how to upload your photos from school events to the Up-Load-It app. Your photos can be published in next year’s Yearbook. See Ms. Christie or Ms. McLaughlin for more information! 

6.   Attention all ACS book clubbers. Today is our last meeting and our annual potluck and book exchange after school in the lecture hall. Please bring something nut free to share and a book you are willing to part with for the book exchange. I hope to see you all there! 

7.   Calling all singers, dancers and actors! Are you interested in being a part of a MUSICAL next year? If so, please come and meet Ms. Capostagno and Mr. DaCosta in room 2005 on Friday May 15th right after school. We are trying to gauge interest because this cannot happen without YOU! 

8.   Today's special in the servery will be Cheese Tortellini with Parma Rosa sauce and a side of garlic toast for $5.75.

1.   Attention Lions! Today is our Annual Wellness Fair in the cafeteria, proudly hosted by the ACS Jack Chapter in partnership with the board’s Mental Health Lead. During your assigned lunch period, you’ll have the opportunity to explore booths from 15 local organizations dedicated to supporting your well-being. There will be interactive activities, chances to enter prize draws, and plenty of awesome swag to take home! We hope that you join us during YOUR lunch! Habe a mentally healthy day. 

2.   Hey everyone! Don’t miss our Faith Night happening Thursday, May 7th from 6:00–8:00 p.m.! Come out for an awesome evening filled with music, prayer, fun activities, and snacks—bring a friend and come hang out! To join us, scan the QR code on the posters around the school to sign up. Don’t wait—the deadline is today!  

3.   A big congratulations to our ACS Concert Band for putting on a flawless performance at the Sanderson Centre last night.  Their version of Bohemian Rhapsody re-imagined the original 1975 lyrics to include the themes of poverty, messages of hope and the life of Jesus.  A special shout-out to Peyton for learning Brian May’s iconic guitar solo and playing it on tenor sax.  Also, a shout-out to Felix for putting together the slideshow that played during the band’s performance.  Well done Lions!   Looking forward to next week’s Spring Concert.   

4.   It’s Catholic Education week and we have a homeroom challenge under way. Remember to bring in your hygiene products to help those in need in our community. The class with the most donated items, will win DONUTS!!!! The Social Justice class will be around on Friday May 8 to collect the items. Thank you for your contributions! 

5.   Hey Lions! Do you still need a perfect Mother’s day gift? Find Trinkets for Treats at the back of the caf on your lunch during TODAY and TOMORROW for trinkets such as beautiful handmade bracelets, doggy bow ties, and flowers with lovely notes. This Social Justice class has been working hard to be able to offer support to the SPCA, all proceeds will go towards aiding the SPCA in their efforts to rescue and rehabilitate animals. Mother’s day is this weekend, so this is a perfect way to pick up a gift!  

6.   Attention Grade 12s: There are only three days left to purchase your Prom tickets. The final day to buy tickets is this Friday. Once your ticket is purchased, please email Ms. Mosher the names of the people you would like to sit with at your table. Each table seats up to 10 people. Even if your group has fewer than 10, please still send the names of everyone in your group. Beginning tomorrow, you can pick up your physical ticket at the back of the Caf on your lunch – please bring your receipt. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Mosher, Mrs. S. Medeiros, or Mrs. Lou-Kay-Zee (Lucchesi).

TODAY at 4:00 PM, our Lady Lions are ready to roar as they take on SJC. It’s time to unleash the pride, defend our territory, and show them what happens when you step into the Lions’ den! We’re calling on all students and staff to come out and support. And a special shoutout to all our ACS female athletes, come and cheer on these fierce competitors! Let’s pack the stands, bring the noise, and prove that our Lions don’t just play… they dominate!

1.   It’s Catholic Education week and we have a homeroom challenge under way. Remember to bring in your hygiene products to help those in need in our community. The class with the most donated items, will win DONUTS!!!! The Social Justice class will be around on Friday May 8 to collect the items. Thank you for your contributions!  

2.   Attention students applying for the Lion/Letter Award. Today is the last day to pick up your status sheet of academic marks and or the optional community service sheet. The librarians will not be giving these sheets out after today. Don’t forget to photocopy your student card for the application. 

3.   Attention Grade 12 students! Today is the final deadline to pay for the Grad retreat.  Enjoy a day outdoors at camp Marydale with your friends and a barbeque lunch. The deadline to pay online is tonight at midnight. See the poster outside of the chaplain’s office for more details and a permission form. 

4.   A reminder to all Simba Award Nominees that our celebration will take place this Thursday morning at 8am in the Lecture Hall.

11.  Come support your Boys rugby teams tomorrow as they take on BCI. Where? At ACS main field! Senior game starts at 3pm, with the Juniors and bantams to follow.

1.   Hey Lions! Don't forget the 90s throwback dance is TOMORROW from 6-9pm. Today is THE LAST day to purchase a ticket, so don’t miss out! On the night of the dance, please remember to bring your ACS student card or another form of ID to confirm your identity. Please note we will be using the STUDENT ENTRANCE for this event. Doors will remain open from 6-7pm. No late admissions will be allowed without prior approval. Please remember that access to lockers will not be available during the dance, and you will not be permitted to leave the dance and return. Coat check will be available for bags and other items if needed. Looking forward to a great night! 

2.   Attention Grade 12 students! There’s only a few days until the deadline to attend the Grad retreat.  All students in grade 12 are invited to attend the Grad retreat even if you will not be graduating this year. 4.   Hello Lions.  A last reminder that applications for the Guatemala trip are due by the end of the day tomorrow (3 PM on Thursday, April 30th).  Applications are still available in the main office.  

5.   Today is the day! If you purchased a Buy-In ticket to today’s boys soccer game, come to the back of the cafeteria on your lunch to receive your wristband. Only those who purchased their ticket yesterday are eligible to attend the match. Go to your 4th period class for attendance and an announcement will be made for your dismissal to go to the field with the track behind the school. There is NO RE-ENTRY. Once you are in, you are in! 

6.   The quake politics club meets today in room 1013 from 3:15-4:00.  Today’s topics are the political spectrum and th war in Iran. Everyone is welcome. 

7.   Monday afternoon, the varsity girls rugby squad stormed into their regular season opener, taking down PJ in convincing fashion. It didn’t take long for the Lions to tickle the try line, with early tries from Selene, Victoria, Emmerson, and Vanny, setting the tone right out of the gate. As the game continued, they didn’t let up. Peyton added to the tally, Maddy B.  powered through for a pair, Eden slipped one over the line, and rookie sensations Natayla and Michelle joined the party with tries of their own. From the tee, it was nothing short of clinical, Heidi, Victoria, and Pheonix were absolute aces, drilling 11 of 13 conversions to keep the pressure firmly on. Defensively, Kiah and Ali A.  stood tall, shutting things down and protecting the line with authority. A Strong performance from start to finish, great work, Lions. Keep that momentum rolling as you head into the Centennial Cup this week. 

8.   Good morning music students! IF you are going to Wonderland you NEED a music t-shirt for $15. IF you are not attending Wonderland you can still purchase one for spirit wear days. See Mr. Glowala or Ms. O’Neill to relay your t-shirt size and order ASAP! 

9.   A huge thank you for the amazing turnout at Latino Club yesterday! It’s your enthusiasm and spirit that bring our community to life. 

10.  Attention Grade 9 and 10 students: Are you interested in joining the ACS Arts Trip to Greece during March Break 2028? If so, please attend the Greece Information Night with your parents tonight at 7:00 PM in the ACS Lecture Hall! You’ll receive all the trip details and have a chance to win great door prizes, including an Acropolis "Lego” set, travel swag, Greece merchandise, or $100 off the cost of the trip. Information packages are available outside Room 2015. We hope to see you this evening!
