Morning Announcements

The ACS Jack.Org Chapter will be meeting right after school in room 1004. Please let Miss Dabrowski know if you cannot attend the meeting via BHN Jack.Org on Microsoft Teams. New members are always welcome!

There will be rehearsal for the Worship Band on Tuesday Nov 23 & Wednesday Nov 24 after school in Room 1035. Please bring your instruments and signing voices! If you cannot make it to rehearsal afterschool, please let Mr. Vieira know so that we can arrange a rehearsal time that best suits your schedule. Thank you!

Anyone interested in ACS Cheer? We are looking for more cheerleaders to join our fantastic team. Please see Ms. Kandilas in Room 2004 during period 1, or Ms. Hynes in Portable 6 during period 2 if you are interested. Tryouts will be next Tuesday and Thursday at 7:15am in the gymnasium. Everyone is welcome, see you there!

Attention all members of the girls hockey team. The next practice is Wednesday nov 24 at 3:30. You must speak to Ms McDade directly if you cannot attend. 

Attention all boys' varsity hockey players! Any players that missed the boy's hockey meeting yesterday, are asked to meet today, at 3 pm, in the cafeteria. If you can't make the meeting, please contact Mr. Bednarz.

Students can no longer request timetable changes for quadmester 2 since it is too late to start a new course. 
Attention all students who have already signed up for a quadmester 2 course change before today-  your guidance counsellor will meet with you as soon as possible.  Please continue following your current schedule until we are able to meet with you-  we have many students to meet with.   

The Boys Varsity Hockey team second tryout is TODAY at Lions Park at 4:30pm. If you did not make the first tryout, please contact Mr. Szasz in Room 3007.

Attention ACS staff and students.  Thursday is Rock Your Mocs day at ACS.  Students and staff can replace their shoes and wear moccasins.  If you do not have moccasins, you must wear regular uniform shoes.

The GSA or Gay Straight Alliance is meeting in the Lecture Hall today.  For this quad, we will be meeting during Grade 10 Lunch, which starts at 12:10pm.

Tonight's the night Lions!  Need an excuse to hang out with friends, eat snacks, and enjoy some great live entertainment? Coffee House is the place to be! Come on out TONIGHT at 6:30 pm and see all the talent our school has to offer. Tickets will continue to be sold in the cafeteria today for $8. Tickets are $10 at the door and capacity is limited so make sure to get yours early! A reminder that this event is only open to students and staff of the ACS community, so don't forget to bring your student card for admission!

Attention all students requesting quadmester 2 course changes: today is the last day to request quadmester 2 course changes. If you require a change, please sign up in your guidance counsellor's book in Student Services for an appointment THEN continue going to your classes until we meet, otherwise we won't be able to find you.

Attention Lions! Quad 2 student timetables will be emailed to your student board account and to your parents email account on file.  There have been several changes to student timetables so please make sure you open this email before the beginning of Quad 2 next Monday.

Tomorrow our Remembrance Day Liturgy will take place virtually immediately following announcements. Every student in our school will also receive a poppy tomorrow morning. All donations collected will support The Royal Canadian Legion, who cares for all those who have served our nation. As members of the Legion, they show their thanks by supporting and advocating for Veterans, by remembering their sacrifices, and by continuing the tradition of service in helping our communities. Students are encouraged to bring in a looney or twoonie on as a donation for your poppy.

Attention students applying for scholarships and bursaries:  if you require an adult to write a letter of reference for you OR to fill in an application, it is respectful to ask for it at least 2 weeks in advance so you can receive a well done, thoughtful letter of reference.  Please also provide the adult with a list of all your extra-curricular activities here at school and in the community, along with dates, timelines and your role in those activities. 

Graduating students- are you thinking of applying to post-secondary schools outside of Ontario or outside of Canada?  The ACS Student Services team recommends you research now to determine due dates for applying to their schools.  They may require entrance exams, documentation from ACS, letters of reference, etc so don't compromise your chances of admission by missing due dates or scrambling at the last minute. 

A reminder to all students-  if you need to talk to your guidance counsellor, please come to Student Services and sign up in your counsellor's book in to make an appointment.
