Social Changemakers Conference
Creating Sustainable Change
On Thursday May 5, 2016, ACS will hold the Social Changemakers Student Conference, and up to 100 student participants will explore such themes as identity, diversity, stereotyping and discrimination, media awareness, anti-bullying, as well as leadership and advocacy. Students from each school will form Social Changemaker teams.
As Social Changemakers, participants will identify issues that exist in their school and community that negatively impact school climate, then brainstorm possible action items. From this list of potential initiatives, school teams will begin to plan and prepare actions to be taken to create safer, more inclusive and more equitable learning environments.
Students will have an opportunity to connect with other students to share ideas, learn the importance of partnership and build connections between schools.
