1. Today is the LAST day to sign up for a schedule change in guidance. It may take several days for students to be seen, you must continue to follow your current schedule until you are called. As long as you sign up by today you will get an appointment.
2. Calling all writers! The OECTA Young Author Awards Contest is now open for poems, short stories, non‑fiction, or even plays—up to 3000 wonderfully edited words. Submit two clean copies of your polished masterpiece to Mrs. Engell in the library by Thursday, Feb. 12th. Sharpen those pencils, fire up your creativity, and let your storytelling shine!
3. There will be an information meeting for the Iceland tri+9-6p on Wednesday, February 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the lecture hall. All students and parents interested in travelling to Iceland are strongly encouraged to attend. Important trip details will be shared, and there will be a discount giveaway prize for attendees. You can sign up for the meeting by scanning the QR codes around the school. Don’t miss it!
4. Concert Band will meet this Monday is the music room. Make sure to take your instrument and music home to practice this weekend. Thanks!
5. Don’t forget to purchase your valentines carnations today! Only $2 each, sold at the back of the caf on all lunches.
6. Attention students! There is an exciting French trip to Montreal coming up this April. Highlights of the trip include visiting the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Montreal Biodome. There is also a possible opportunity to attend a Montreal Canadiens hockey game. Hockey tickets sell out very quickly, so if you are interested in the trip and want the chance to go to the game, you need to act fast. See or email Mme. Danielle Beccari as soon as possible for more information.
7. Senior Badmintons second tryout will be after school 3-4:30 on Friday, February 6th. Please bring your form signed to the tryout.
8. Attention Jack Chapter Members! There will be a mandatory Jack Chapter meeting today after school. There will be a room change and the meeting will take place at 3:10 after school in room 1005. New members are welcome as this is the beginning of a new semester. Thank you and have a mentally healthy day!
9. Attention travelers to Italy over the March Break. There will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday February 11th after school in the lecture hall. Please ensure you attend this very important meeting.
10. Our Boys Hockey Team finished the regular season with a 6-5 win over BCI. Wilson Silva led the way with a hattrick which included the game winner scored with 6.7 seconds left. Zane Seguin made 15 saves to get the win. The Lions finish the Regular season in first place with 7 wins and a Tie. So yes, the Lions scored 6 goals to get their 7th win, scoring the winner with 6.7 seconds left in the game.
11. Friday's caf special will be Buffalo chicken poutine topped with mozzarella cheese, Gravy, Ranch dressing and green onions for $7.25. Friday's French Onion Homemade veggie based SOUP $ 4.20. With baked croutons and mozzarella cheese. Onion rings $4.50. Have a great weekend.
