1. Today is Custodial Appreciation day. Thank you to Mr. Darby and the custodial staff who helps keep our school safe, clean and welcoming. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed – from the big jobs to small details, you help create an environment where students and staff can thrive. We appreciate the pride and care you put into your work.
2. Homecoming Dance is TONIGHT lions! Ticket sales will continue on school cash online until 3pm. NO cash sales will be accepted at the door. For tonight’s event, please remember to bring your ACS student card or another form of ID to confirm your identity. Please note we will be using the STUDENT ENTRANCE for this event. Doors will remain open from 6-7pm. No late admissions will be allowed without prior approval. Please remember that access to lockers will not be available during the dance, and you will not be permitted to leave the dance and return. Coat check will be available for bags and other items if needed. The dance theme is School Spirit. Dress to excess in spirit wear and school colours. Please remember that outfits must adhere to the student code of conduct, and should reflect the moral tone of ACS.
3. ASSUMPTION SCARES forms are being collected in the caf TODAY on all lunches. Please be sure that everything is filed out and that you have all of your teammates paperwork stapled together. If not, you will be asked to resubmit. Don’t forget that we only have 70 routes and if you don’t hurry and hand in your forms, we may run out of routes and you will not be able to participate!
4. Amplify Your Culture, the amazing celebration of culture here at ACS, is happening on October 23. Thers is still time to register your group before our next meeting on OCT 10. See one of the many QR codes around the building to sign up. If you have signed up, please check your emails to confirm the people in your group along with an idea of what you are doing. If you are bringing food list the ingredients and start thinking about cultural music tor the playlist.
5. If you ordered spirit wear online, and have received a notification that it has been delivered, your order can be picked up today in the student council office on your lunch.
6. Are you interested in advocating for your community and empowering yourself and others? Then the ACE committee is for you. We will be meeting today in Portable 8 on senior lunch. New members are welcome. We hope to see you there.
7. Attention all STEM Club members, new and old. The moment you have been waiting for has finally arrived. Our first meeting of the year is TODAY, October 2nd! Come to the lecture hall on your lunch. Bring your lunch and join us to hear about our amazing club, what we have planned this year, and how to get the most out of your experience in STEM. New members are always welcome!
8. Reminder there is a Social Justice Film Club meeting in Portable 17 at 3:10pm.
9. Today's special in the servery will be Mexican Fries or Nachos topped with tex Mex Beef, cheese sauce, salsa, sour cream and diced green onions for $8.25. Plain nachos and cheese sauce for $4.99. Cinnamon buns are available at the first break bell for those that are interested. Also we finally have our big belly chocolate chip cookies back in stock!!!
