1. Don’t forget MOTHER’s day is this weekend, and we are here to help. The Social Justice class will be selling bracelets today in the caf – they make great mother’s days gifts and your donation will help support Sick Kids Toronto
2. Attention Grade 12’s. Today is the day to begin picking up your Prom tickets. Bring your School Cash Online receipt as proof of purchase to the back of the Caf during Senior lunch.
3. Attention Assumption. Tonight is the night! Join us in the Caf from 6pm-8pm for our Faith Over Fear Night. We will be sharing in our faith through musical performances, activities, and prayers. Tickets can be purchased the door. Bring some friends and join us for this incredible night.
4. Applications for student council are now available in the main office. They are due back to the main office no later than 12pm on Monday, May 12th. Limited applications are available so pick up yours today!
5. This year’s spring dance is set for Thursday, May 15th from 6-9pm. The theme is “Spring into Glow”. Get ready for a music-filled night filled with neon and blacklights. Ticket sales for ACS students are available on school cash online from Monday May 5th to Wednesday May 14th. Guest tickets must be purchased in person at the back of the caf May 8th – May 13th. Please remember that guest forms must be completed before a ticket to the dance can be purchased. Guest forms can be picked up in the main office.
6. Attention all girls interested in trying out for the girls slo-pitch team. The first tryout is today. come with your glove and meet at the tennis courts at 3:15.

8. Attention all poets and performers! Get ready to showcase your talent for the upcoming virtual LAC Slam Poetry Contest! Submit your original poems by Tuesday, May 20th, 11:59 PM in the library's D2L. With cash prizes up to $100 for the top three winners, this is your chance to shine! Choose any theme that inspires you, but remember to keep it respectful and free from offensive language. Slam poetry is all about expressing your thoughts and emotions with passion and creativity—so let your words flow and captivate the audience!
9. Just a friendly nudge that all library books must return to their home shelves by Monday, June 2nd—no excuses, not even “the dog ate my book”. If your book is holding on for dear life because you need it for class, don’t worry—you have until June 19th. But after that, we might have to start charging fees. Do the right thing—set your library book free!
10. All grade 11 SHSM health care students must pick up a permission form from room 2029 for the human anatomy lab trip next week (Tues. May 13). Forms need to be signed and returned as soon as possible.
11. Attention grade 12’s - OSAP applications are now open for the 2025-2026 school year. We encourage all students planning on attending college or university next year to consider applying for financial assistance.
12. Attention STEM students: If you are interested in attending a Cancer Research Workshop at McMaster University, please see the activity feed of the STEM D2L page for details. If you have already signed up, please pay the fee via school cash online ASAP. If a minimum number of payments are NOT received by Monday, the trip will be cancelled.
13. Burford Elementary needs volunteers for their Fun Fair on June 19th . This is a great opportunity for community service hours. See guidance for more information.
14. Attention all girls interested in trying out for the girls lacrosse team. The first tryout will be next Thursday, May 15. Please sign the QR code outside the gym office.
15. Attention! All Extended French students in grades 9-12 are invited on a field trip on May 30th to a lavender field. Please come see Mme. Danielle in workroom 2010 during any lunch for a permission form.
16. Thursday's cafe special will be Tex mex loaded fries or nachos topped with tex mex beef, cheese sauce, salasa, sour cream and green onions for $7.75. Plain nachos and cheese available for $4.99. Also in stock while supplies last are homemade milkshakes and chipwich frozen sandwich. Currently we still have no cinnamon buns in stock.
