1.   Congratulations to all of our 2025 Simba Award nominees.  We look forward to celebrating with you all tomorrow, Thursday May 8th, at 8am in the Lecture Hall. 

 

2.   The annual spring concert is here! And it’s TODAY, Wednesday, May 7th from 7-9pm. Audience members will be treated from budding musicians to seasoned veterans in band and vocal! $5 will get you in to see just how hard the music classes and ensembles are at work! Performers, your call time is in the music room at 6:15pm for band and vocal. Don’t forget to wear “spring attire” like pastels and floral patterns. You don’t want to miss it! 

3.   On Thursday, May 8th, from 6pm-8pm in the Caf, we will be hosting a Faith night called Faith Over Fear. The tickets can be purchased at the doors that evening. Tomorrow is the last day to purchase your ticket. 

4.   Mother’s Day is this weekend!!! Please be sure to remember your momma today! One was could be by stopping by the caf. The Social Justice class will be selling bracelets today and they make great mother’s days gifts.  Your donation will help support Sick Kids Toronto.

5.   Math tutoring will be in the library today for grade 9’s.  Come out and get some free extra help. 

Attention all girls interested in trying out for the girls slo-pitch team. The first tryout is Thursday  come with your glove and meet at the tennis courts at 3:15.  

6.   The Rainbow Ball is happening TONIGHT at Pauline Johnson Vocational School. Please be at the front of the school by 5:45pm. The bus will pick us up at 6pm and drop us off at 9:45pm. Please ensure that you have a ride home. If you are not taking the bus with us, please let Ms. Nuhu know and check in with her as soon as you arrive at the dance as well as before you leave. 

7.   Business Focus SHSM Students – please meet with Mr. Virdo during last lunch today at ONE PM in Room 2006 for details on our trip to Laurier Brantford Campus next week.  Today at ONE PM  ROOM 2006. 

8.   Mrs. Cameron would like to thank all students and staff on their kindness and generosity for the Nigerian family fundraiser! You made a difference in their life! Thank you and God bless! 

9.   ACS Knit club our meeting is today after school from 3-4 in room 1004. Hope to see you there! We have 4 meetings left for this year. There are no meetings in June.  

10.  Applications for student council are now available in the main office. They are due back to the main office no later than 12pm on Monday, May 12th. Limited applications are available so pick up yours today! 

11.  Registration is now closed for the grad retreat and online payment is no longer  available. All students who have paid must submit a permission to Mrs. Sheldrake or you will not be permitted to board the buses. Pick up a permission form at the chaplaincy office.  

12.  This year’s spring dance is set for Thursday, May 15th from 6-9pm. The theme is “Spring into Glow”. Get ready for a music-filled night filled with neon and blacklights. Ticket sales for ACS students are available on school cash online from Monday May 5th to Wednesday May 14th. Guest tickets must be purchased in person at the back of the caf May 8th – May 13th. Please remember that guest forms must be completed before a ticket to the dance can be purchased. Guest forms can be picked up in the main office. 

13.  Attention STEM club members  Dr. Tyler Wilson, a Software Engineer specializing in Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence will be coming in on Thursday May 8th   to give two STEM talks during the grade 10 lunch and the grade 11/12 lunch. Come by room 3005 to pick up a slip or to get more information.

15.  Attention Grade 12’s. Prom is officially sold out. If you didn’t purchase a ticket, you can put your name on a waitlist in the main office during your spare or lunch. This waitlist is ONLY for Grade 12 Assumption College students who did not get a ticket – this waitlist is NOT for a guest ticket. If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Mosher, Mrs. Medeiros or Mrs. Matromatteo. 

16.  All grade 11 SHSM health care students must pick up a permission form from room 2029 for the human anatomy lab trip next week (Tues. May 13). Forms need to be signed and returned as soon as possible. 

17.  Attention grade 12’s - OSAP applications are now open for the 2025-2026 school year. We encourage all students planning on attending college or university next year to consider applying for financial assistance.  

18.  Class of 2025 Graduation participants, this is a reminder to check D2L Brightspace for Scholarships and Awards.  The Russell Willsher Memorial Award Application and The Nancy and Travis Lytle Application is now open. 

19.  Today's special is Cheese and potato perogies with fries for $6.50. On their own $5.50.    No cinnamon buns available still out of stock. Ice cream sandwiches available today  for $2.99 .
