1.   Welcome to Catholic Education Week.  BHNCDSB hosts the Cathholic Student Leadership Awards at ACS tonight.

2.   Happy Mental Health Awareness Week! Get ready—TOMORROW is the big day! The Jack Chapter is proud to present its 3rd Annual Wellness Fair during all three lunches in the cafeteria, and you won’t want to miss it! We’re welcoming an incredible lineup of community partners who are excited to connect with YOU and share their services that support the well-being of every teenager. There will be free swag, exciting giveaways, and a whole lot of fun at each station! This is a fantastic opportunity to explore local wellness resources, ask questions, and take part in important conversations about mental health. Make sure to stop by the fair during your lunch and bring a friend—it’s going to be an amazing event! If you have any questions, please see Miss Dabrowski. Let’s make tomorrow unforgettable! 

3.   The annual spring concert is here! And it’s THIS Wednesday, May 7th from 7-9pm. Audience members will be treated from budding musicians to seasoned veterans in band and vocal! $5 will get you in to see just how hard the music classes and ensembles are at work! Performers, your call time is in the music room at 6:15pm for band and vocal. Don’t forget to wear “spring attire” like pastels and floral patterns. You don’t want to miss it! 

4.   Attention Assumption. This is the week! On Thursday, May 8th, from 6pm-8pm in the Caf, we will be hosting a Faith night called Faith Over Fear. We will be sharing in our faith through musical performances, activities, and prayers. The tickets go on sale today at the back of the Caf for $5. This includes drinks and snacks. If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Mosher, Mrs. Sheldrake, Izzy Matthews or Shauntay Lindsay. If any staff are interested in joining us that evening, please email Ms. Mosher. All are welcome. 

5.   Attention Grade 12s. Today is the last day to register for the grad retreat. Online payment will be closed at midnight tonight. 

6.   Attention Grade 12’s. Prom is officially sold out. If you didn’t purchase a ticket, you can put your name on a waitlist in the main office during your spare or lunch. This waitlist is ONLY for Grade 12 Assumption College students who did not get a ticket – this waitlist is NOT for a guest ticket. If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Mosher, Mrs. Medeiros or Mrs. Matromatteo.  

7.   This year’s spring dance is set for Thursday, May 15th from 6-9pm. The theme is “Spring into Glow”. Get ready for a music-filled night filled with neon and blacklights. Ticket sales for ACS students are available on school cash online from Monday May 5th to Wednesday May 14th. Guest tickets must be purchased in person at the back of the caf May 8th – May 13th. Please remember that guest forms must be completed before a ticket to the dance can be purchased. Guest forms can be picked up in the main office. 

8.   The Rainbow Ball is taking place this Wednesday, May 7th at Pauline Johnson Vocational School. Permission forms and $12 payment are due to Ms. Nuhu TODAY! We will board the bus at the front of the school at 6pm and will be dropped off at 9:45pm. If you are not taking the bus with us, please let Ms. Nuhu know and check in with her as soon as you arrive at the dance, as well as before you leave.  

9.   If you missed this morning’s Book club meeting, there will be another one after school today in the library’s Innovation lab. Hope to see you there. 

10.  Applications for student council are now available in the main office. They are due back to the main office no later than 12pm on Monday, May 12th. Limited applications are available so pick up yours today! 

11.  Good Job all track and field athletes who competed at the Debbie Miller on Friday! Please make sure you come to practice today at 3:15 as well as check the list to see what events you can compete in for AAHBN this Thursday and Friday. Please please come see Mr. Mitchell during first and or second period in room 2063 or during fourth period in room 2052 TODAY! Practices will be 3:15 Monday and Tuesday!  

12.  Ciao, future travelers! Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime—our March Break 2026 Italy Trip is officially happening! From exploring ancient ruins in Rome to wandering through the art-filled streets of Florence and indulging in delicious gelato, this unforgettable journey is calling your name. If you've ever dreamed of seeing the Colosseum, the Vatican, or the canals of Venice, now is your chance to make it a reality. Information packages are now available with Miss Dabrowski in Workroom 2010. Students who sign up for the trip before Monday May 12th will receive $100 off the trip. Spots are filling up! 13.  Attention all poets and performers! Get ready to showcase your talent for the upcoming virtual LAC Slam Poetry Contest! Submit your original poems by Tuesday, May 19th, 11:59 PM in the library's D2L. With cash prizes up to $100 for the top three winners, this is your chance to shine! Choose any theme that inspires you, but remember to keep it respectful and free from offensive language. Slam poetry is all about expressing your thoughts and emotions with passion and creativity—so let your words flow and captivate the audience! 

14.  All students going on the Geography trip to Niagara Falls TOMORROW are reminded to DRESS FOR THE RAINY WEATHER! Bring a coat, good walking shoes, and wear layers! Those of you on the waitlist, please bring your uniform as you may not have a seat on the bus and will need to go to class. See you at 9am tomorrow in the Student Parking Lot! 15.  You are invited to fight Fast Fashion by joining the Environment Club’s Clothing Swap on Wednesday May 14th after school. Bring 10-15 used clothing items in good condition, and leave with some new-to-you clothes in return! All seasons and sizes needed. Light refreshments will be provided.  

16.  Attention STEM club members  Dr. Tyler Wilson, a Software Engineer specializing in Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence will be coming in on Thursday May 8th   to give two STEM talks during the grade 10 lunch and the grade 11/12 lunch. Come by room 3005 to pick up a slip or to get more information. 

17.  Stem members interested in participating in a student lead night of Stem there is a meeting afterschool today in room 3005. 

18.  Today's special will be Tomato basil red sauce with your choice of beef meatballs or popcorn chicken with penne pasta and a side of garlic toast for $5.50. Ice ream sundaes and freezies available today.
