Automation Trip
On Apr 9, 2025, Students visited 2 Automation Companies: Shape Process Automation, and Ethos Automation Inc. The students were part of Assumption's Specialist High Skills Major ( SHSM ) program, within the fields of Computer Engineering, Automotive Technology, and Manufacturing Technology
Shape Process Automation is in Burlington. They were in the process of making a Mail Sorting System that will be able to sort up 7000 parcels per hour. Shape’s Vice President Sargon Haddad led the students around the plant where they were shown the Sorter from design, control, and mockup of a section which will be part of a 2 km system.
Ethos Automation Inc. is in Brantford. The trip was organized by Jennifer Kemme. Ethos was making several Automated Systems for the Automotive, Aerospace, and Nuclear industries. Students were shown how the systems were taken from design to the robotic assembly system.
