Attention Lions.  Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday, February 22nd.  Students are encouraged to replace their uniform top with a pink shirt in an effort to increase awareness and help put an end to bullying behaviours.

To celebrate Black History Month, we will be having a "Throwback 2000s" Casual Dress Day on Thursday, February 23rd.  Staff and students will be encouraged to wear clothing from the early 2000s.  This is a free Casual Dress Day.  

The Junior Boys Basketball Team play St. John's today at 4:30pm in the semifinals at St. John's. Be sure to come out and support your Lions! If any players need a cab to the game, please come let Mr. Dyjack know by the end of period 1. 

Hey - it's Tuesday, not Monday, so that means it's Vocal Ensemble tonight! It's also the LAST DAY for anyone new who's thinking of joining the group to join! Hope to see you there!

Attention students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 who signed up for the Waterloo Math Contest.  The contest will take place in the library tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 9am sharp! Please go to the library before announcements. An email was sent to those who are participating.

There will be a Junior Badminton practice Wednesday morning at 7am and Senior practice Thursday morning at 7am. Thank you to all that participated in tryouts and congrats to those who made the team.

STEM will be hosting a presentation on Thursday by the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), where Astronaut Jeremy Hansen will be sharing his story with us. The event runs from 1:00pm to 1:45pm in the Lecture Hall and will require a permission slip to attend as there is limited seating. Drop by Room 3005 to pick one up ASAP.

STEM Olympics will start on Monday Feb 27th and run until Mar 2nd, during both lunches. Teams of students (max 4) from each grade compete against their peers in four consecutive events. There will be prizes for each daily winner as well as the crowning champions. Sign up begins today!

STEM Council is meeting after school on Wednesday Feb 22nd. There are a few upcoming topics to discuss as we enter the second half of the year.

There will be a school-based immunization catch up clinic for students born in 2005 and 2006 in the small gym on Friday, February 24th.

Are you talented? Well then sign up for "ACS' Got Talent" today! We're looking for fine artists, actors, comedians, dancers, instrumentalists, singers, film makers, magicians and more! Email a video of your talent to Mrs. Ratelband at nratelband@bhncdsb.ca by the due date - Friday, March 31st by midnight. Please ensure your artistic choices such as music, costuming, theme, language etc. reflect the moral tone of ACS. 

Attention Grade 12 SHSM Students: Your Mandatory First Aid Training is approaching. Please check your school email for more information and/or see the lists posted on the windows of the student services office. If you have any questions or concerns go to student services. This training is only for grade 12 SHSM students. If you are in grade 11 and enrolled in a SHSM you will receive first aid training next school year. 

Attention ACS Knitting Club members.  Our next meeting will be taking place on Wednesday, February 22nd from 3pm to 4pm in Portable 17.  If you need more yarn, pop into the portable anytime.  Thank you for all you do.

Book Club and LEAP are excited to announce that Kate McLocklin herself will join us virtually here at ACS on Thursday, February 23rd at 12pm in a yet to be determined location.
