Wednesday, February 1st to Thursday February 2nd, 2023

Congratulations Lions on finishing your first semester exams!

Second semester starts on Friday, February 3rd.

Second semester schedules have been emailed to students.  Students who have not received an email are asked to contact the Main Office before Friday.

If any student needs to see their guidance counsellor regarding semester 2 schedule changes you must come to student services and sign-up for an appointment. Schedule changes require an in-person appointment and will not be done through email. The last day to sign-up for schedule changes is Wednesday February 8th.

Attention Graduates: the time has come, your community service hours are due! Please bring your completed community hours sheets to student services by Thursday, February 9th. Remember, they must be signed by you and your parent/guardian to be handed in.

This announcement is for the 32 grade 12 students who, on January 11th, for their Parish Bursary, received a letter from Mrs. Fergus and an attached application.  Just a reminder that your deadline for submission is 3 PM on Friday February 3rd, which is the first day of semester 2.  No lates will be accepted.

Creative Writers, are you listening?  Here's an opportunity for poets, essayists, script writers, and short story enthusiasts.  Information is available from any semester 1 English teacher and from Ms. Engell.  They will have the specifics regarding word limit, font style and font size.  Polished and original pieces, submitted in hard copy, to either Mrs. Fergus or Mrs. Engell no later than the end of the school day of February 6th.

Welcome back, Lions! And welcome to any new students this semester. Your school library's Book Club and LEAP are hosting two amazing events this month and we want you there. This coming Wednesday, Canadian author Judy Lin will be speaking about her White Pine nominated novel, A Magic Steeped in Poison and about the writing process in general. You will have the opportunity to ask Judy questions directly. Even if you haven't read the book, there is something for everyone. All students are welcome. LEAP members will receive points for attending. Please sign up in the library at the circulation desk. The presentation is at 12 PM in the Reading Room on February 8th. Students will be given slips to get out of class, if necessary. See Mrs. Santos or Mrs. Engell in the Library if you have any questions.

Chevy Chase.  Jeff Bezos. Alicia Keys.  Jodie Foster.  Dr. Seuss. Conan O'Brien.  What do these individuals have in common?  What could you have in common with them? They were all their high school valedictorian.  And this could be you! Deadline for the application and essay is Friday February 10th.  See all the information in the grad package that you received at the November grad meeting.
