A message for Guidance.  If you submitted a SHSM application form but DIDN'T pick up a SHSM tracking sheet, you are asked to come to student services when you are NOT in class and ask for a SHSM Tracking Sheet for your sector so you can track your courses and plan your future courses.

Attention, Gr. 9 and 10, Lions!  The C.W.A.Y.C. team would like to invite you to test your geographical thinking in this year’s Canadian Geographic Challenge. This is an annual Geography competition to test high school students’ knowledge of Canada and the world.  Plus, you can earn AP Points in the process! The school winner will go on to represent Assumption College School at the provincial level this spring and may continue to advance to the national level too.  Assumption has made it to the national level before, and this could be YOUR turn! If you would like to participate, please visit the Library Brightspace page this week to complete the linked 50 question multiple choice quiz.  All results must be submitted prior to 11:59 pm this Friday (March 11th).  Please note that you only get one attempt to earn a top score, and you must complete the quiz in one sitting.  Also, please note that you may NOT seek help or access any additional resources as you write.  You will also need to use the Microsoft Edge browser—NOT Google Chrome—to ensure you can see the embedded images in the quiz. The winner will be announced following March Break.  Best of luck, Geographers—we can’t wait to see your Geographic knowledge in action!

Attention Graduating students! A quick reminder that many Scholarship and Bursary applications will be due in April and May-  March Break is a perfect time to decide which ones you will apply to.  Please take the time to check the Scholarship Chart found on your Grad Info D2L page under Content.  Make sure you check the need for reference letters and ensure you give staff of Assumption or any other adults at least 2 weeks to provide a letter of reference for you.  If a transcript is required, please provide Mrs. Dickson in Student Services with the email address it needs to be sent to in a timely manner so it can be sent electronically. Remember to apply to scholarships you are eligible for, and even though you may only be awarded with a limited number, it's free money that people in our community are willing to invest in your educational future, so take a chance and apply!
