Social Changemakers Conference

On Thursday May 5, 2016, ACS held the Social Changemakers Student Conference, and 100 student participants explored themes as identity, diversity, stereotyping and discrimination, media awareness, anti-bullying, as well as leadership and advocacy. Students from ACS formed Social Changemaker teams.

As Social Changemakers, participants identified issues that exist at their school and community that negatively impact school climate, then brainstorm possible action items. From this list of potential initiatives, school teams will begin to plan and prepare actions to be taken to create safer, more inclusive and more equitable learning environments.

Students will then have an opportunity to connect with other students to share ideas, learn the importance of partnership and build connections between schools.
