Manufacturing Day

On Thursday Oct 5, 2017, ACS Students participated in the 3RD Annual Manufacturing Day that was held across the school region yesterday. This year we had several new Industry partners which gave our students the opportunity to visit other manufacturers.

Manufacturing Day is an annual celebration of modern and advanced manufacturing where students, educators, businesspeople, media, and politicians are invited to their facilities in a collective effort to educate visitors about manufacturing career opportunities and improve public perceptions of manufacturing.

As we all know, our students have many tough decisions to make as they navigate the high school years and for some of them  the “ Skilled Life “ is very much a pathway that can lead to a successful career!

The companies that the students visited were;

Bowman Precision Tooling

Gizeh

What they make: Plastic containers for food product (candy and yogurt)

Hematite

What they make: Hematite is a full-service manufacturer of recycled plastic products for managing acoustics, air flow and water deflection on the vehicle.

Massilly
