Assumption College School
Career Resource Centre


    The main purpose of the CRC is a resource for teachers as well as students. Teachers can use the CRC to schedule workshops as well as guest speakers for their class. Students can use the CRC to receive help with their resumes, use the computers, find out information about jobs and apprenticeships. The average visit at the Career Resource Centre is approx. 15– 20 minutes.

The CRC is found beside the guidance office. When entering the school from the front entrance continue walking straight though the cafeteria to find the guidance office. Proceed to your left and there you will discover the career resource centre.
The CRC provides career information and job search assistance to help you find a job or discover what future career you want to persue.
Only students and teachers of Assumption College School may use the resource center in the school. There are, however other resource centres that are open for the public.

Need help with your resume? Never made a resume and don't know where to start? The CRC can help you make a resume that no potential boss could pass up.
If you have never put a resume together a beginner must simply fill out a resume worksheet, provided at the CRC. Once all needed information is on paper you will receive help with the layout and grammar. At this point, with the resume completed you can then receive help with a cover letter. With all this complete you will now be on your way to applying for many new and exciting career opportunities.

Have your first interview and are unsure what to expect? Have you been going to many interviews but have not been receiving any calls back? The CRC can help you with your next job interview.

When receiving help with your interviewee skills you may expect to discuss appropriate dress and behavior. You may also be asked and discuss the most commonly asked questions during a job interview and lastly their may be a roll pay session.

Are you unsure about your future? Do you want help discovering and deciding what career path you want to follow?If you don't know what you want to do with your life the CRC can help you!

There are various websites that may help those who are unsure. You can find out what those sites are and visit them in the CRC room. You may also discover how to find out what jobs are in demand as well as the various wages pertaining to various careers.
