BRANTFORD, Ontario – Rick Petrella, a trustee representing the City of Brantford, was acclaimed for a fourth term as Chair of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board during the Annual meeting held Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Dan Dignard, trustee representing the County of Brant, was elected as Vice-chair.

“The opportunity to continue my role as Chair is an incredible honour,” said Petrella. “Knowing that I have the support of the trustees of this Board means that we can continue to do great things to support Catholic education and the success of our students.”

This is Rick Petrella’s fourth consecutive term as Chair of the Board. As well, it is the second year in a row that Dan Dignard has occupied the Vice-chair position.

“It is the goal of all of the trustees of the Board to ensure that all students are exposed to the best education possible and are provided with all the supports that they may need. Our Catholic system enables us to do this in an environment that promotes inclusion, equity and dignity for all. I am pleased to highlight that through the Board’s leadership, our School District met its goals without cuts to programs or services, and in fact, was able to reinvest in infrastructure while continuing our commitment to student achievement,” said, Chair of the Board, Rick Petrella.

Over 50 administrators and staff were in attendance for a Celebration of the Eucharist presided by The Most Reverend Gerard Paul Bergie, Bishop of St. Catharines that took place as part of the annual meeting.
