ACS wins the BCSSAA Boys Baseball Championship!

The ACS Lions ended the BCSSAA portion of their season with a perfect 7 - 0 record as they won their 3rd BCSSAA Boys Baseball title in their last 4 years after defeating the BCI Mustangs by the score of 10 - 0 on Thursday May 19, 2016 final played at George Henry Diamond. The Lions got off to a quick start in this one as they jumped all over the Mustangs from the outset, putting up 6 runs on 5 hits in the bottom of the 1st. The Lions added 2 more runs in the 2nd and 2 more in the 5th to end the game on the mercy rule.  Kaine Doumani pitched 3 shutout innings and went 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs, Jordan Stamp had a triple, a single and a walk with 3 runs scored, while Brady Cappe pitched 2 shut out innings and had an RBI double.  Gabe Bruder and Reece Doumani also collected a pair of hits for ACS.  Luc Tanguay had a great game in the field and also collected the walk off hit to end the game. The Lions will now face Kincardine District Secondary School in a CWOSSAA play in game scheduled for Tues. May 24 at 2 pm at Cockshutt Park.
